Beluga whales reach full size at about 10 years.
Females average 3 to 4m and weigh about 1,360kg


Adult beluga whales are almost completely white.
Calves are dark gray;they become lighter incolour with age and at full maturity they become white,
though they retain some dark colouron the edge of the flippers and flukes.


Beluga whales are relatively slow swimmers.
They swim about 2-6mph.
They are capable of short bursts of speed up to 14mph for about 15min.

Life span:

Beluga whale's life span is about 25 to 30 years.


Beluga whales generally live together in small groups known as pods.
They are social animals and very vocal communicators that employ a diversified language of clicks, whistles, and clangs.
Beluga whales can also mimic a variety of other sounds
